Weekly Mindfulness Workout

FREE Weekly Mindfulness Workout.

It’s nearly November! Hoping we get more of the good days and less of the wet days ☀️
The Mindfulness Crochet is half way and I’m loving it! By now all the participants are getting into it and we are starting on making a beautiful project on Tuesday. I will get some pictures for you!
I’m also doing a great Mindfulness & Zendoodle at the workplace this week, which was a great excuse to buy some more markers and make more zendoodles myself 😀

This week I bring back something that I have to continously point out to myself. I easily get drawn in by my work and keep going until I’m finished, this often causes me to sit for too long.
So this week my focus is on going outside and be mindful of my movements and the world around me. Really focussing on the sun on my face, the blue sky, gorgeous clouds and the beautiful greenery around me that comes in so many different shades! Bushes and trees are blossoming and it will smell nice, people are mowing their lawns and I love that smell too! If you don’t have time to go out for walks, make the times that you are walking, mindful!

Are you joining in this week? Show my what you see!!

Have a great week,
Monique

Weekly Mindfulness Workout

Good morning!

With the Christmas season coming closer in New Zealand there are two things that seem to be impossible to combine. There is lots of yummy food at all the shops and Christmas gatherings, ànd it’s time to get your summer clothes and swimgear out!

So this week’s mindful workout is a mindful eating practice that can help in eating less.

Remember the Mindful Eating Course starts in November and you can email monique@easynowmindfulness.com to secure your place!

We often eat on autopilot, doing other things, without noticing all the signs and signals that our body is sending us to stop eating. We just eat until the food is gone, the plate is empty, often without noticing we are eating at all!

This week, choose one meal a day, and try to pay attention to the moment you stop eating that meal. And if you can, try to pay attention to the moment just before you are going to stop eating. What are you thinking? What can you feel in your body? Can you feel your stomach is full, or too full? Do you feel satisfied and well-nourished?

If you want to stop gaining weight, try to stop eating a bit sooner. Stop eating when you start feeling full and nourished. You might find it hard, you might have thoughts about not wanting to waste the food, or about how you paid for it and should eat it. Just be honest, if you eat more than you want or your body needs, you are not looking after yourself and you will not feel good about yourself if you eat it all. So just discard of the leftovers and let go of these old habitual thoughts that are not helping you to feel good about yourself and your weight!

Have a great week, hope you can give it go. Doesn’t matter if you forget to do the practice one day, be kind just try again the next day! Even just one meal this week is great! Small steps are just fine too!!

Good morning lovely people!
We had a busy week last week. Spring into Tawa fair on Saturday, getting the word out about the Mindfulness Crochet course (which is now fully
booked!) and I picked up our guest for two weeks from our home country The Netherlands!
Apart from getting lots of goodies, (which is alway yummy) I’m really enjoying to see our life, our Wellington, and our beautiful New Zealand through the eyes of this remarkable young student. It makes me so happy with everything we have right here! My family, my home, my city and amazing new home country.
A great mindfulness exercise is trying to see the world around you, as if you are seeing it for the first time. Just noticing the views, the sounds & smells, and also your ordinary daily life as if it is the first tie you are experiencing it all.
As if you are seeing it through the lens of a camera, without any negative judgments, just taking it all in. Because we do not have to strive for the highest, the greatest, the best, the most expensive, the most succesful etc etc, to be happy and fulfilled with our ordinary daily life that is right here in front of us!!
Hope you can give this a go this week,
Monique

🌴🌿🌲🍃 WEEKLY MINDFULNESS WORKOUT 🌴🌿🌲🍃
Good morning!!! It is Mental Health Awareness Week. Mental health is something we all have and must look after, just like we look ater our physical health
I’m joining the NZ Mental Health Foundation this week on the National Lockout. And not just on Monday, but everyday this week!!
So here is what you do:
“When the clock strikes noon, lock up your classroom, turn off the computer, down tools or shut up shop and head outside to explore the world around you – you’ll quickly discover for yourself how happiness and wellbeing blooms when you connect with the nature that surrounds you every day.
When people spend quality time with me they:
• Have improved concentration, attention and emotional functioning
• Feel fully alive and energised
• Feel happier and less anxious
You don’t need to strap on your hiking boots or drive into the bush – simply discover the blue and green spaces you work and live around every day. ” #mhawnz*
Have a great week, don’t forget to register for Mindfulness Crochet by emailing me on monique@easynowmindfulness.com to secure a place!

Take a tiny holiday every day

🌷Free Mindfulness Workout🌷

We’ve had the best weekend away with the family, celebrating two birthdays! And now back home, the best mindfulness practice to keep the feeling of holiday is to take 5 minutes a day, or even just 1 minute a day, to do absolutely nothing. And when you are a busy person this can be challenging!

Just set a timer for 5 minutes, and do nothing. You don’t even have to go find a quiet space, just do it. Sit or stand and just be. Things might be happening around you, just observe. Thoughts going on in your mind? Just observe, thoughts will pop op, it’s all normal. You might smell things or notice birds flying by, kids playing, people talking, breathing, feeling tension in your body, seeing trees waving in the wind, sounds… Just let it all be for 5 minutes, no judging, no criticising, just letting be.

Have a great week,
Monique
